Cult of Demeter is an organic loose leaf barley tea with cocoa and anise from Da LBI Tea. Naturally caffeine-free, it brews into a cup with notes of biscotti, aniseed, cocoa butter and toasted barley.
Divine comfort in the dark hours of winter. Inspired by the original barley tisane kykeon, the ritual drink of devotees of the Greek goddess Demeter, this tea has a satin texture and creamy flavor. Nutty roasted barley and malt are enriched by the subtle aroma of sweet aniseed and roasted cacao. A splash of your favorite milk turns up its natural sweetness.

You can definitely taste the anise. I like that this one had simple ingredients without added flavoring.

This was a pale, watery brew. All I could taste was the anise. None of the cocoa and barely any of the barley. I followed the brewing instructions. Just…not much flavor.
